Megalink is the name for BCE Nexxia ’s Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN) -Primary Rate Interface (PRI) service.
PRI service integrates voice, video and data applications simultaneously over the same DS-1 facility providing digital connectivity to the public switched telephone network (PSTN) along with a host of robust call management features.
This versatile service accommodates a variety of needs with the ability to provide:
• Local access for PBX phone systems (Primary Branch Exchanges) that may be customized to meet specific requirements for business customers.
• High capacity local access facilities for dedicated termination of local or toll-free traffic to:
• Call centres
• Pre-paid calling card platforms
• Conferencing applications
• ISP modem pools for dial-up Internet applications
• Direct Inward Dialling (DID) numbers in numerous rate centres for assignment to end users by VoIP Service Providers.
PRI services may be installed in Bell’s operating territories in the
provinces of Ontario, Québec, Manitoba, Alberta and British Columbia, and back-hauled to popular meeting points. An alternative interconnection method for Competitive Local Exchange Carriers to obtain DID numbers and initiate and terminate PSTN traffic to and from local rate centres.
Business Line Basic service
Business Line Basic service is a primary exchange service that provides a connection with loop start optioning or ground start optioning (for PBX trunk lines) to a central office. Basic Service includes Touchtone and Call Display.
As part of Basic Service, customers may be eligible to order Bell’s Direct Inward Dial (DID) service, which permits direct inward dialling on analogue PBX trunks.
Business Line Bundle service
Business Line Bundle service is a primary exchange service that provides a connection with loop start signalling to a central office. Bundle service includes Touchtone and up to four calling features. Eligible bundle features are:
• Call Display
• Call Forwarding
• Three Way Calling
• Call Waiting (Including Visual Call Waiting)
Centrex is a fully functional, centrally managed, scalable telephone network service with 24/7 technical support.
Customers do not require major capital investments in order to get the Centrex service from BCE Nexxia.
Each employee gets their own telephone line and unique 7 digit telephone number. This touchtone line has access to a wide variety of system and station features. Each user’s line can be customized based on individual requirements.
Residential Access Service (RAS) provides connection to the Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN).
RAS is available for resale to retail end users in exchanges where the CRTC has granted forbearance from the regulation of line rates in Ontario and Québec, including in the operating territory of Bell Aliant Regional Communications.
Each RAS Line is provisioned to an end user with Touchtone, Bell Relay Service and 9-1-1 Access. As part of the RAS Service, several features can be subscribed to on a monthly basis.
